Yema Gbondo is the Lead Academic Success Coach at the Goodwill Excel Center. She is at Northwest 1776 G Street Campus. Yema has been with GEC since June 2018. She started as a coach and became the Lead Academic Success Coach in 2021.

Yema comes to GEC from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), where she was the MBA Advisor/Faculty Affairs Coordinator for the School of Management at NYIT. In my role I provide academic advisement to MBA students, serve as MBA ombudsman, and handle and resolve student inquiries. Prior to working at NYIT, Yema worked for nonprofit organizations in NYC as a Mentally Ill Chemical Abuse Case Manager for homeless clients providing case manager services for clients to obtain housing to disable, mentally ill or substance abuse clients, while simultaneously pursing my Masters in Business Administration (MBA)degree.

She earned her MBA from NYIT. Yema has a passion to serve the community, mentoring and counseling students/clients as they navigate life choices. Yema is guided by a quote by Lena White “The Only way you really see change, is by helping create it.”
