Catherine Meloy
Catherine Meloy serves as President and CEO of Goodwill of Greater Washington and the Goodwill Excel Center Adult Charter High School. Prior to joining Goodwill in 2003, Catherine had a successful 20 year management career in the radio industry.
Over the past 14 years, Goodwill has grown to over 900 associates; 20 retail stores and nine government janitorial contracts. Goodwill of Greater Washington provides sector training programs in Hospitality,
Protective and Security Services and Energy and Utilities training to the underserved in the community. In further serving and expanding the mission of Goodwill, the first adult diploma charter high school – The Goodwill Excel Center – opened in August 2016, serving over 325 students.
Catherine’s involvement in the greater Washington business community includes being elected to the Federal Reserve Board of Richmond; sitting on the Boards of Directors of the Greater Washington Board of Trade; Federal City Council; DC Chamber of Commerce; MedStar Georgetown University Hospital Center; Source America; and the Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board.
Catherine is a recipient of the Greater Washington Board of Trade’s “Leader of the Years Award”; was honored by Washingtonian Magazine as “Washingtonian of the Year”; inducted into the American Marketing Association-DC Chapter Hall of Fame and highlighted as a Most Admired CEO by Smart CEO Magazine for her successful organizational turnaround of Goodwill of Greater Washington.
She and her husband, David, President of Merit Hotels, live in Annapolis, Maryland and have three grown children.
